I walked through the door

Timid and scared.

Doubting myself, questioning

Who really cared?

The voices carried,

The noise was loud.

I felt like one person

Lost in a crowd.

People were helpful,

“Wipe off your spoon,

rinse out your mug”

Whenever I hurt

They gave me a hug.

I never felt lonely

That is for sure.

Finally my depression

Had found a cure.

All of my sisters

I’ve met in here,

Have softened my heart

And lessened my fear.

Every moment shared

Was a memory made.

Tears that were shed,

Laughter as we played.

It’s a growing friendship,

I’ll carry with me day after day.

You are all special

In your own individual way.

The world is round, and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning.
